Jörg Frese

Jörg Frese has extensive work experience in the field of data science. Jörg currently holds the position of Sr. Data Scientist at Conversica since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at HERE Technologies as Principal Data Scientist from January 2018 to February 2022, where they focused on information extraction and semantic analysis in areas such as search, places databases, and web scraping.

Before joining HERE Technologies, Jörg served as the Director, Technical Lead, Data Science at LeEco US from May 2016 to September 2017. Jörg was responsible for leading the data science team and implementing technical solutions.

From June 2013 to May 2016, Jörg was the Director of Data Science at SDL plc. In this role, they established the Data Science team for the Social Intelligence division, where they developed scalable automated techniques for extracting insights from social media data.

Jörg also gained valuable experience at American Express from November 2008 to March 2013, where they held the position of Director, Digital Marketing Analytics and Data Science. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Manager - Economist from September 2002 to November 2008.

Jörg began their career as an intern at Pretoria News, where they worked as a reporter for three months in 1996, covering various local news stories.

Jörg Frese began their education at The University of Bonn in 1992, where they pursued a degree in Economics with specializations in Industrial Organization, Game Theory, and Econometrics. Jörg successfully completed their Diplom Volkswirt (M.Sc.) in 1999. Following this, they attended Oregon State University from 2000 to 2002, working towards a PhD (ABD) in Environmental Economics.

In addition to their formal education, Jörg Frese has obtained several certifications. In December 2017, they completed the courses "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," offered by Coursera. Jörg also obtained certification in "Advanced SQL for Data Scientists" from LinkedIn in June 2017.
