Cook County Public Defender
Chris Lazare currently serves as a Law Clerk in the Felony Trial Division at the Cook County Public Defender, a position held since August 2023. Previously, Chris gained experience as a Summer Law Clerk for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia from May to August 2023. Prior to legal roles, Chris was the National Organizing Director for both Grassroots Law Project and Real Justice PAC, managing organizing teams, developing strategies, and overseeing candidate endorsements. Chris also directed community activation efforts for Beto For Texas during the 2018 campaign, contributing to a record-breaking grassroots mobilization. Earlier experiences include organizing and teaching roles within educational and labor organizations. Chris Lazare is pursuing a JD at Chicago-Kent College of Law, following a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Florida Atlantic University.
