Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith currently serves as a Genealogy Librarian at Cook Memorial Public Library District since October 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Research, Instruction, & Digital Services Librarian at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary from September 2018 to May 2023, and Church Administrator at First Congregational Church of Wilmette from July 2015 to September 2018. Daniel also gained experience as a Library Assistant at The United Library from September 2008 to July 2015 and worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary between August 2010 and July 2014. Additionally, Daniel held the position of Campus Ministry Associate at University Christian Ministry at Northwestern University from August 2010 to June 2014. Daniel's educational background includes a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Bachelor of Science in Religion & Philosophy from Martin Methodist College, and two master's degrees from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Church History and Religious Education.
