- Environmental Modeller at Cooke Aquaculture Scotland from February 2019 to March 2021.
- Postdoctoral Researcher at Lews Castle College, University of the Highlands and Islands from March 2017 to February 2019, where they worked on the FloWTurb project, investigating the response of tidal energy converters to combined tidal flow, waves, and turbulence.
- Research Associate at Lews Castle College, University of the Highlands and Islands from October 2015 to March 2017, contributing to the MERIKA project, focused on marine energy research and innovation.
- PhD at the University of the Highlands and Islands from October 2011 to September 2015, researching the regional impacts of large-scale wave energy converter arrays on the surrounding wave climate.

Charles Greenwood completed their education at the University of Plymouth, where they obtained both their BSc (Hons) degree in Surf Science and Technology, and their MSc degree in Marine Renewable Energy. Charles studied from 2007 to 2010 for their undergraduate degree, and from 2010 to 2011 for their postgraduate degree.
