Colleen Powers has over 15 years of work experience in the field of writing and editing. In 2020, they began working as a Senior Brand Storyteller for both Sol de Janeiro and COOLA. From 2015-2020, they were a Senior Brand Storyteller for Fresh, where they managed a team of three copywriters and wrote copy for global skincare, makeup, fragrance, and lifestyle launches. From 2014-2015, they were a Freelance Copywriter for CHANEL, where they brainstormed, wrote, and proofed beauty and fashion copy. In 2013, they were a Freelance Proofreader for J.Crew and a Freelance Copywriter for NET-A-PORTER. From 2011-2013, they were a Copywriter for Avon, where they wrote copy for the Body Spa section of the bi-monthly North American Avon brochure. In 2013, they were also a Freelance Copywriter for Scoop NYC. From 2010-2011, they were a Freelance Writer for Conde Nast. From 2005-2010, they were an Assistant Lifestyle Editor for American Baby, where they wrote and edited fitness, beauty, fashion, and food pages, as well as interviewed celebrities, beauty experts, trainers, doctors, and stylists for articles.

Colleen Powers attended Loyola University Maryland from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, General. Colleen then attended Columbia University in 2019.
