Andrew Appel

Andrew is a successful and accomplished business leader, CEO, and trusted advisor to numerous executives across multiple industries. With over twenty-five years of management experience, he is known for a deep transformational business acumen, aligning senior teams and organizations on strategies and key initiatives, creating impactful strategic and operational plans, executing complex M&A transactions, developing strong internal and external communications, and for building followership of global cross-functional teams to deliver significant value and transformation.

In 2021, Andrew founded App Capital, an organization devoted to the digital transformation of businesses focused on information services and CPG through support, directorship, and/or ownership. From 2012 to 2021, Andrew served as President and Chief Executive Officer of IRI. Appel led IRI’s transformation from an insights provider to delivering growth as a technology-focused Big Data global company. Prior to IRI, Appel served on the Executive Committee of Aon from 2005 to 2010. In 2009, he was promoted to the company’s first Chief Operating Officer where he led the $5 billion acquisition of Hewitt, solidifying Aon's leading position in human resource consulting and outsourcing.
