Austin de Maillé currently serves as the Manager of Mechanical Design Engineering at Intuitive, starting in June 2024. Prior to this role, Austin held the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer/Senior Consultant at PA Consulting from July 2022 to May 2024, focusing on technology and product development in robotics and medical devices. A graduate research fellow at Stryker in 2021, Austin contributed to a five-year operations strategy for mass customization of medical models and surgical guides. Austin’s experience at Intuitive Surgical involved designing components for surgical staplers and was preceded by internships both at Intuitive Surgical and MIT CSAIL, where work included soft robotics. Educational background includes an MS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering.
