Michael Riley

Director, Center For A Resuscitation Education And Community Engagement at Cooper University Health Care

Michael Riley has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Starting in 2010, they worked as an EMS Educator at Star Career Academy, providing training and education in Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician courses. Michael also assisted paramedic students in reviewing for the National Registry exam.

From 2006 to 2014, Riley worked as a Paramedic at Burholme First Aid Corps Inc, responding to emergency calls in the northeast area of Philadelphia and providing ALS and BLS care to patients. Michael also assisted in instructing the Emergency Medical Technician course at the satellite site for Montgomery County EMS training center.

In 2015, Riley served as an AHA Instructor at Einstein Healthcare Network, monitoring instructors for training and renewal, maintaining quality management of programs, and teaching provider courses according to AHA standards.

Michael also worked as a PRN Paramedic at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center from 2015 to 2017, a Firefighter/Paramedic at HORSHAM FIRE COMPANY #1 AMBULANCE CORP from 2011 to 2019, and a PRN AHA Instructor at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System from 2012 to 2019.

From 2014 to 2020, Riley worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Drexel University College of Medicine, providing education to physicians, students, and healthcare professionals in the American Heart Association courses and serving as an instructor for the Emergency Medical Technician program.

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, they held various roles from 2017 to 2021, including Emergency Care Educator, Senior Emergency Care Educator, and Sr. Life Support Educator, where they focused on providing education and outreach in life support.

Riley most recently worked at Cooper University Health Care since 2021, first as a Director of the Life Support Program and currently as the Director of the Center for a Resuscitation Education and Community Engagement.

Michael Riley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies from Thomas Jefferson University. Michael obtained a CCEMT-P certification from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2010 and a NREMT-P certification from Star Career Academy in 2006. Michael also holds several additional certifications, such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Change agent, National Registered Paramedic (NRP), Paramedic, ACLS Training center faculty, BLS training center faculty, EMS Educator/Evaluator, PALS Training center faculty, and Training Center Coordinator.
