Robert Somer

Executive Director- Clinical Trials Program at Cooper University Health Care

Robert Somer has extensive work experience in the healthcare and medical field. Robert started their career in 2003 at Cooper University Health Care, where they held various roles including Hematologist Oncologist, Head of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Clinical Trials Program. In 2010, they joined Cooper Medical School of Rowan University as an Associate Professor of Medicine and later became a Professor of Medicine. Additionally, they have held Adjunct Professor and Adjunct Associate Professor positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2014 to 2018. From 2004 to 2010, they worked as an Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Robert Somer has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from New York University, obtained from 1989 to 1993. Robert then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from Stony Brook University, completing it from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued a Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple University from 2000 to 2003. In 2007 to 2009, they obtained a Business Certificate for Working Professionals from The Wharton School. Additionally, Robert Somer has participated in an Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Pennsylvania, although the exact timeframe is unknown.
