Leslie Tavares

Leslie Tavares has extensive work experience in microbiology and laboratory management. From 2001 to 2009, they were the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor at Rhode Island Analytical. Leslie then worked at Specialized Technology Resources, Inc. as the Pharmacy Microbiology Supervisor from 2009 to 2011. Leslie joined Rapid Micro Biosystems in 2011 as a Validation Specialist/R&D Microbiologist until 2013. Leslie then became a QC Analyst II at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2013 to 2014. In 2015, they worked as a Senior QA Microbiologist at The Clorox Company. From 2016 to 2019, they held various roles at WuXi AppTec, including Senior Technical Specialist and General Microbiology & Microbial Solutions Laboratory Manager. From 2019 to 2021, they were the Microbial Solutions Laboratory and Custom Studies Manager at WuXi AppTec. Currently, they are serving as a Senior Laboratory Optimization Specialist at COPAN Diagnostics, Inc. starting from 2022.

Leslie Tavares holds a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Clinical Laboratory Science: Biotechnology from the University of Rhode Island. This degree was obtained between 2006 and 2012. Prior to that, Leslie obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Microbiology from the same university, which was completed from 2001 to 2005.

Leslie's secondary education took place at Central High School, where they did not pursue a particular degree or field of study.

In terms of additional certifications, Leslie obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the Six Sigma Global Institute in November 2022.
