John Amund Tønnes

John Amund Tønnes is Deputy Chairman and appointed by the rest of the Board as a member with special competencies. He joined the board of Copenhagen Phil in 2019 and has been appointed for the period 2019-2023. John is considered an independent member of the Board.

John has a background in defense and as a lawyer. He also has management experience from the crossroads between culture and commercial entertainment and guest-oriented companies, including as former CEO of Nordisk Film Biografer and Lagkagehuset. John is currently director of the Obel Family Foundation and also has experience with management tasks and board work in i.a. The Copenhagen Theater Cooperation, the Copenhagen Film Festivals, Pumpehuset, NF Live and a number of media companies.
