Alan Renner has held various positions in the engineering and chemistry fields since 2014. Alan began as a Chemist at The Ohio State University in 2014 before becoming a Lean Co-Op at Parker Hannifin in 2015. Alan then held a Chemical Process Engineering Intern position at Armstrong World Industries in 2016, followed by a Manufacturing Engineer Intern position at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. In 2018, Renner began working at Owens Corning as a Technical Lead, Production Supervisor, and Manufacturing Engineer. In their role as Technical Lead, their responsibilities included implementing control software and logic within the SCADA system utilizing Python, leading training and development of new entry-level engineers, and optimizing process variables to deliver a high-quality product to the customer. As a Manufacturing Engineer, they helped identify and implement mechanical changes for a $149,000 raw material reduction, and implemented and programmed a raw material dispensing system to reduce break downs by more than 50%. Most recently, Renner has held Software Engineer positions at Copia Automation and The Prosp(a)rity Project since 2021.

Alan Renner obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University between 2012 and 2018. In 2020, they attended Nucamp Coding Bootcamp to study Computer Software Engineering.
