Michael Phiri

Michael Phiri is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in banking and investment management. Currently serving as a Lecturer at Copperbelt University since March 2023, Michael also contributes to the Workers' Compensation Fund Control Board as a member of the Investment and Finance Committee, focusing on corporate investment policies. In the role of Senior Relationship Manager for the Northern Region Commercial at Zambia National Commercial Bank (Zanaco) PLC since October 2018, Michael has further held the position of Acting Head of Commercial Banking. Prior experience includes significant roles at Barclays from 2006 to September 2018, where responsibilities ranged from managing business banking portfolios to analyzing corporate securities. Michael’s educational background includes an MBA in Finance from the University of Zambia, a BSc in Banking and Finance, and a CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting. Currently, Michael is pursuing further education at ZIALE and UNZA.
