Nermien Riad is the founder and Executive Director of Coptic Orphans, an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of over 45,000 Egyptian children through educational and developmental programs. With over 30 years of experience, Nermien established a grassroots network of more than 450 volunteer child advocates in Egypt and cultivated a global base of supporters. Prior to this role, Nermien served as a Management Analyst at the IRS, where responsibilities included managing a nationwide security enhancement program, and as Branch Chief of Engineering at the U.S. Department of State, overseeing technical staff and negotiating contracts that delivered significant cost savings. Nermien earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
