David Barber

David Barber has over 20 years of experience in various roles within the IT industry. David worked as a Consultant at PA Consulting from 1992 to 1997, where they designed and implemented international fulfillment operations and redeveloped a large sporting membership platform. From 1999 to 2001, they were a Web Developer at The Manchester Metropolitan University, where they developed database-driven websites and created interactive tools for language learning. At The University of Manchester from 2001 to 2005, they served as an Analyst Programmer, leading the UK Online Technical Team and developing innovative e-learning applications. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Java Software Engineer at Sony Music Entertainment, where they improved system performance and designed a content management system. Since 2006, they have been working at Copyright Agency, starting as a Senior Java Developer and eventually becoming the Head of Information Technology. In this role, they led a four-year Business Transformation Program, developed a cloud-first strategy, and improved the company's information security posture. Additionally, they managed a strong Applications Development Team and provided application lifecycle management.

David Barber earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from the University of Hull in 1990. David later obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from The Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001. David also holds additional certifications, including the Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD) and the Sun Certified Web Component Developer for Java 2EE (SCWCD), from Sun Microsystems.
