Rob Gallegos MD,PhD, FACC

Rob Gallegos MD, PhD, FACC has extensive experience in the medical field. Rob currently works as an Expert Legal Consultant at ExpertConnect Litigation Support, LLC since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Cardiac Surgeon at The Iowa Clinic starting from January 2018.

Dr. Gallegos also worked as a Medical Consultant at CORCYM from August 2021. From January 2018 to August 2021, they held the role of Consultant/Proctor at LivaNova.

Before that, Dr. Gallegos worked as a Consultant at Abiomed from March 2015 to January 2018. Rob also served as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Presbyterian Healthcare Services from January 2016 to December 2017.

Their earlier experiences include roles as a Proctor and Consultant at Edwards Lifesciences from December 2011 to December 2016. Rob also worked as a Surgical Director Mechanical Assist Program and Cardiac Surgeon at The Christ Hospital Health Network from July 2011 to July 2016.

Dr. Gallegos started their career as a Cardiac Surgeon at Brigham and Women's Hospital from July 2008 to June 2011. Additionally, they served as an Associate Thoracic Surgeon at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute during the same period.

Rob Gallegos MD, PhD, FACC has an extensive education history and additional certifications. Rob earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego in 1994. Rob then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from UC San Diego, which they obtained in 1998.

Following their medical degree, Rob Gallegos completed a General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Minnesota from 1998 to 2006. During this time, they also undertook a Fellowship in Surgical Infectious Disease from 2000 to 2003.

In 2001, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Surgery/Tissue Engineering at the University of Minnesota, which they completed in 2007.

Additionally, they completed a Cardiac Surgery Fellowship at Harvard University's Brigham and Women's Hospital from 2006 to 2008.

Rob Gallegos has achieved several certifications throughout their career. Rob obtained Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association in March 2021. Furthermore, they received Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association in April 1998. Rob is also certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS). Moreover, they completed BLS and ACLS recertification programs with Pacific Medical Training.

In June 2023, they attained the prestigious FACC certification from the American College of Cardiology.
