Chandra Karunakaran

Chandra Karunakaran is a seasoned professional in the field of biomedical engineering, currently serving as the Sr. Ultrasound Engineer at Cordance Medical since August 2022. Prior to this role, Chandra held positions as a Sr. R&D Engineer at ReCor Medical and as associate faculty in Radiation Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where the focus was on ultrasound-based immune priming in cancer models. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral associate role at the University of Arizona, developing a thermometry platform for breast cancer therapy, and postdoctoral research at the University at Buffalo, concentrating on ultrasound-based ion-channel activation. Chandra has also worked as a Senior Associate in healthcare analytics at PwC, an intern at Praxair, and contributed to advancements in quantitative ultrasound at the University of Illinois.
