Joanne C. Butler

JoAnne C. Butler, C. Dir., is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in governance and operational leadership within the energy and health sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member and Chair of the Governance and Compensation Committee at Cordelio Power Inc. since December 2018, Butler previously held significant positions including Vice President at both the Independent Electricity System Operator and Ontario Power Authority, where responsibilities encompassed electricity market development and resource procurement. Notable contributions include Chair roles in governance committees at Technical Standards and Safety Authority and Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, reflecting strong expertise in governance and organizational development. Butler was recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2013. An alumnus of Queen's University with dual Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering, Butler also completed a Director's College program at DeGroote School of Management.
