Robin Cordell

Robin Cordell has had an extensive career in occupational medicine and health. Robin is the co-founder of Cordell Health Ltd, a social enterprise that provides affordable occupational health services to underserved populations. Robin has held multiple roles within the company, including Occupational Physician and Consultant in Occupational Medicine. Robin has also served as a Board Director at the Council for Work and Health.

Additionally, Robin has held leadership positions in various organizations. Robin served as the President of the Society of Occupational Medicine, where they focused on enhancing member value through education and services. Robin also worked as the Lead Occupational Health Advisor at the Department for Work and Pensions, advising on health and work-related initiatives.

Robin has outstanding international experience, having served as the Allied Command Operations Medical Advisor at NATO. In this role, they provided strategic direction for delivering medical support in NATO operations and developed policies for military medical services in humanitarian assistance and health sector development.

Prior to their civilian career, Robin held a senior medical leadership position in the UK Ministry of Defence, where they were responsible for medical strategy and policy development. Robin played a significant role in transforming and managing change within the Defence Medical Services.

In addition to their work in occupational medicine, Robin has consulted on medical leadership and management. Robin has contributed to the development of standards for leadership in medical professions and implemented processes for revalidation and appraisal of doctors with management responsibilities through their work with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.

Robin Cordell began their education in 1977 at the University of London, where they pursued a BSc in Medicine. Robin completed their degree in 1983 and became a licensed medical practitioner through the General Medical Council in the same year. In 1987, Cordell obtained membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). Throughout their career, they obtained various certifications, including a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University Business School (OUBS) in 2011 and a fellowship from the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FFOM) in 2013. In 2016, Cordell achieved the prestigious title of Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) from the Royal College of Physicians.
