Operations and Maintenance Engineer at Cordia

Samuel Brauer has extensive work experience in operations and maintenance roles, primarily in the field of district heating and cooling plants. Samuel has worked as an Operations and Maintenance Engineer at Cordia and Clearway Community Energy, where they focused on ensuring the continuous steam and chilled water flow for customers by safely operating and maintaining boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment. Samuel also performed regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, piping, and structures necessary for producing steam and chilled water.

Prior to their roles in district heating and cooling plants, Samuel served in the US Navy, where they held various positions. Samuel was certified as a Master Training Specialist and assumed leadership roles, mentoring, instructing, and evaluating other instructors while developing curricula products. Samuel also served as a Training Coordinator and Exam Engineer in the Off-Crew Training Group, where they developed and maintained a comprehensive training program and created and administered multiple exams.

In addition, Samuel worked as a Nuclear Prototype Instructor, educating students and staff members on nuclear power plant operations, system design, and maintenance. Samuel also served as a Chief Reactor Watch and Mechanical Operator, directly supervising operators and managing operational evolutions and maintenance practices.

Before their time in the navy, Samuel had a role as the Head Volleyball Coach at Franklin Elementary.

Samuel Brauer is currently pursuing an Associate in Science degree at Trident Technical College from 2020 to 2022. Prior to this, they attended the Nuclear Power School - Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) from 2012 to 2014, where they completed the Nuclear Machinist's Mate 'A' School, Power School, and Nuclear Power Training Unit. Samuel's educational journey began at Del Oro High School, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
