Gal Shabtay

Gal Shabtay has extensive experience in the technology and R&D industry. Gal co-founded and served as the General Manager of Corephotonics Ltd since 2016, where they were responsible for leading the company's overall operations. Prior to that, they co-founded Corephotonics in 2011 and served as the VP-R&D. In this role, they played a significant role in the product and technology development, as well as the company's IP strategy. Gal Shabtay also has experience at Tessera, where they served as the Vice President of R&D from 2007 to 2011. Their responsibilities included managing the Optical Image Enhancement R&D group, leading technology development, defining new products, and setting the IP strategy. Additionally, Gal Shabtay co-founded Eyesquad in 2006 and served as its VP R&D and CTO. Gal was responsible for the company's technology inception and development, as well as defining its products. Gal played a key role in the acquisition of Eyesquad by Tessera. Gal Shabtay's work experience demonstrates their expertise in product and technology development, IP strategy, and leading interdisciplinary teams.

Gal Shabtay has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical Engineering. Gal began their education at Tel Aviv University in 1993 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1996. Gal then pursued further studies at the same institution and obtained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1999. Following this, Gal Shabtay attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 2008 to 2010, where they completed an Executive MBA.
