Joseph Walsh

Joseph Walsh serves as Co-Principal Investigator at Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, since July 2023, and holds the position of Professor and Head of the School of STEM at Munster Technological University from January 2021. Concurrently, Joseph has been the Professor and Head of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at the Institute of Technology, Tralee, since August 2012, and has led the IMaR Research Centre since September 2008, focusing on research collaboration between industry and academia. Joseph’s background includes roles as a Project Reviewer and Proposal Evaluator for the European Commission, and a range of academic positions including Lecturer and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Technology, Tralee, and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Limerick. Joseph holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering, an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, a Certificate in Medical Science, a B.Sc. in Electronic Systems, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Physics and Electronics.
