Marcus McDermott

Marcus McDermott is an accomplished fashion industry professional with extensive experience in design, research, and entrepreneurial ventures. As the Owner and Creative Director of LIFE LIKE MARK since July 2019, Marcus focuses on garment design and brand creation. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at Cornell Fashion & Body Tech Lab and as a Level 4 Designer and Design Mentor at Cornell Fashion Collective, Marcus contributes to runway shows and innovative fashion initiatives. Additional roles include involvement in organizing networking galas for the Cornell Fashion Industry Network and conducting research at Aalto University and Frey Lab Group. Previous internships at Proenza Schouler honed skills in design and technical documentation. With a foundation in customer service from SPACE 519 and leadership experience as a Board Member at the Illinois Holocaust Museum, Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science in Fiber Science & Apparel Design from Cornell University, complemented by summer programs in fashion management and construction at prestigious institutions.
