Jamie Kennea

Jamie Kennea is a prominent research professional with extensive experience in astrophysics and space science. Currently serving as the Lead of the Swift X-ray Telescope Team and the Science Operations Team Lead for the NASA Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory at Penn State University since July 2004, Jamie Kennea manages a team responsible for scientific observations and collaboration with the scientific community. In addition to the role at Penn State, Jamie serves as a NASA Subject Matter Expert with Cornell Technical Services, providing insights on NASA Missions and operations related to X-ray and UV telescopes. Previous positions include Associate Researcher at the University of California, Riverside, and Postdoctoral Researcher at UC Santa Barbara, where significant contributions were made to the ESA XMM-Newton mission. Jamie Kennea holds a PhD in Astrophysics and a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Birmingham.
