Ana Sofia Alonso Munera

Ana Sofia Alonso Munera is a dedicated mechanical engineering professional with extensive experience in both research and practical applications in renewable energy and spacecraft systems. Currently pursuing a Master of Engineering at Cornell University, Ana Sofia contributes to the Cornell SmallSat Mission Design School Summer Program, focusing on trajectory design and communications for a "Mini Moon Mission." As a Graduate Student Research Assistant, research involves evaluating control systems for spacecraft models under Professor Timothy Sands. Previous roles include building wave energy converters at the SEA Lab and leading a team in the Marine Energy Collegiate Competition. Intern experience includes wind turbine blade design with the Green Roof Team and contributions to the Cornell Mars Rover project. Additionally, Ana Sofia has served as a teaching assistant and mentor, fostering academic excellence among engineering students.
