Jason Rao

Jason Rao currently serves as the DC Commissioner for ANC 3D06, focusing on environmental, educational, transportation, public health, and equity improvements for Washington DC residents since January 2021. Simultaneously, Jason Rao holds the position of Executive Director and Advisory Chair at Health Security Partners, emphasizing national security, international development, and diplomacy. As Senior Professorial Faculty at Cornell University, Jason Rao leads research and courses on Global Health Security and Diplomacy. Previous roles include Associate Professor-Adjunct at Georgetown University, Senior Director at the American Society for Microbiology, Senior Policy Advisor at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Deputy Director at the U.S. Department of State. Educational qualifications comprise a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a BA in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
