Ron Olson is an experienced operations leader currently serving as the Director of Operations at Cornell University since August 2019. Prior to this role, Ron held various positions including Micro and Nano Structures Technology Operations Manager at GE Global Research from July 2005 to August 2019, and Director of Fab Operations at Xanoptix, Inc. from 2000 to 2005. Earlier in the career, Ron worked as a Principal Process Engineer at Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company, from April 1997 to March 2000, and as a Principal Development Engineer at Quantum Corporation from 1995 to 1997. Ron’s extensive background in engineering began at Raytheon, where work was performed from July 1987 to September 1995. Ron earned a Master of Science in Material Science and Engineering from Northeastern University between 1988 and 1991 and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Allegheny College from 1982 to 1986.
