Zirkle Blakey

Zirkle Blakey has extensive experience in the banking industry, starting as a bank examiner for the Bureau of Financial Institutions in 1984. Zirkle went on to become a Senior Vice President at County Bank of Chesterfield/Commerce Bank/SouthTrust for sixteen years before becoming the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Bank of Virginia in 2002. Blakey then joined River City Bank in 2004 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where they managed all aspects of financial, regulatory, operations, compliance, human resources, and related areas. In 2008, they started Community Bank Consulting, where they provided consulting services to various community banks, including contract CFO assignments, policy development and review, regulatory examination preparation, and more. In 2009, they became the Executive Vice President and CFO of Peoples Community Bank and was responsible for its financial operations until 2020. Zirkle has also served as the Editor/Publisher for VirginiaPreps.com and as the Senior Executive at C&F Bank before taking up their latest role as the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at CornerStone Bank N.A. in May 2020.

Zirkle Blakey attended Virginia Tech from 1976 to 1980 and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management. In 1996, they attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and completed studies in banking, graduating in 1998.
