Kevin Leonard is currently the General Manager of Mattress Mfg. at Cornerstone Detention. Prior to this, they worked as Production Manager at States Industries from May 2001 to May 2004.
At States Industries, Kevin was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Components East Division, which consisted of a planner scheduler, a CNC programmer, 2 lead people, and 48 shop floor personnel. Kevin was also in charge of implementing and maintaining a quality system that ensured customer quality requirements were met.
During their time at States Industries, Kevin was able to fine-tune the CNC operation to maintain metal like tolerances for wood parts (+- .0078") by using collets with less run out, diamond tooling, increasing vacuum, and making state of the art fixtures. As a result of Kevin's dedication and hard work, they were able to maintain 100% on-time shipping for their entire tenure with States.
In addition to their production responsibilities, Kevin also worked with inside and outside sales to ensure customer satisfaction. Kevin also worked directly with customers from owners and management to engineering to establish healthy relationships that lasted the entire time they were with States Industries.
Kevin Leonard has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University, and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Administration and Management from Catawba College. Kevin also has an Associate's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Davidson County Community College. Kevin is certified in electrical trouble shooting for panel processing equipment from Stiles Machinery.
