Michael Armstrong currently serves as the Director of Safety at the National Audubon Society and as a Risk Management Advisor at Cornerstone Safety Group. With extensive experience in risk management, Michael has held positions including Principal Consultant at Armstrong Adventure Consulting, where expertise is provided in risk optimization for outdoor providers, and Disaster Program Manager at the American Red Cross. Michael's previous roles encompass significant contributions to Outward Bound International, managing risk assessments for numerous global schools, and head operations at Outward Bound Hong Kong. An accomplished leader, Michael has developed safety policies and operations strategies throughout a career that began in educational outdoor programming and logistics. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Resource and Environmental Economics from the University of Oregon and a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Central Oregon Community College.
