He also represents individuals in Sec. 1983 Civil Rights actions. Mike began his career as a public defender for the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society, then worked at a civil firm in civil, real estate and corporate litigation. Mike has always been concerned about the quality and content of American agriculture, and the practices of American farmers. He grew up next to a local farm which, at a young age, was also his first outdoor job. With the birth of his son, Sol, in 2018, his concern took on an added personal consideration and greater watchfulness.
Mike became engaged with The Cornucopia Institute as a consumer seeking to learn more about the diverse agricultural practices under the penumbra of organic farming. By joining Cornucopia, Mike has committed to engaging more as an active consumer in the oversight and regulation of organic farming to benefit consumers and farmers.
He studied philosophy at Haverford College, The Graduate Faculty, Ruhr University, University of Toronto, and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University, with various scholarships and publications. He received his juris doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
