Laurie Harrison

Laurie Harrison has over 25 years of work experience in various roles related to education, language teaching, digital publishing, and course creation.

Currently, Laurie is Vice President of Skills Products at Corporate Visions, where they are involved in developing the next generation of skills training experiences for sales and marketing messaging.

Prior to Corporate Visions, Laurie worked as a Founding Coach at Maven, providing support to course creators in shaping their courses and incorporating sound learning design principles.

Laurie also has a background in co-founding companies. They were a Co-Founder at LearnJam, a company focused on digital learning, and at ELTjam, a blog and digital learning agency in the English Language Teaching industry.

Before their ventures as a co-founder, Laurie held several positions at Cambridge University Press, including Associate Publishing Director and New Media Publishing Manager in the ELT division, where they oversaw digital leadership, coordination, and product management for various courses.

Earlier in their career, Laurie worked as a CTO at Headporter.com, a start-up providing online and mobile marketing capabilities to student unions in the UK. They were also a Frontend Developer at Green Cathedral, an IT company.

Laurie started their career as a Teacher of English at various institutions, including The British Institute of Seville, GAMA-Bell, and Target Language Consultants in Poland.

Laurie Harrison began their education at The University of Manchester in 1993, where they pursued a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature. Laurie completed their undergraduate degree in 1996. Later, in 1999, Laurie enrolled at City, University of London, where they obtained an MSc in Electronic Publishing. This was completed in the following year, 2000.
