Sonya Skinner has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Sonya has worked as the Chief Administrative Officer at the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood since 2020, where they are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and overseeing corporate services. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Administrative Officer at the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority from 2016 to 2019, leading a strategic turnaround and increasing conservation area incomes. Sonya also held the position of Director of Compliance Modernization at the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, Ontario from 2014 to 2016, where they led a large-scale transformation initiative to protect the environment. Before that, they were an Information Services Executive at Ontario Public Service Executives from 2010 to 2014, where they led initiatives to improve the integration of government data. Sonya also has experience at the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, where they served as a Manager in various capacities, including Investment Planning and Performance, Contract Management Office, Change Management Office, and Head of Maintenance Contracts. Sonya has a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes and implementing strategic initiatives.
Sonya Skinner received their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Carleton University in 1992. Sonya then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Engineering degree with a specialization in Civil Engineering, specifically in Traffic and Environmental, from Queen's University - Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in 1997.
