Shane Abbitt is a seasoned research scientist with over a decade of experience at Corteva, where responsibility includes the isolation and characterization of plant expression elements since March 2012. Prior to this role, Shane served as a senior research associate at Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc from September 1997 to September 2012, focusing on the identification and management of plant expression elements, as well as overseeing entry-level researchers. Shane has also worked as a sports photographer for the Iowa Wild hockey team from October 2015 to May 2021. Shane holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Simpson College.
