Michael Sendyk, CPA, CA has had a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Michael started their career at Mentor Engineering as an Accountant, where they managed accounting related to revenue, capital assets, and inventory. Michael then moved on to the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta, where they started as a Staff Auditor and eventually became an Audit Manager. In this role, they led and developed audit teams, conducting financial statement audits and performance audits.
Following their time at the OAG, Michael joined Shaw Communications as an Accounting Manager, overseeing a team of accountants supporting the organization's operational divisions and subsidiaries. Michael then joined Hallmark Tubulars Ltd. as a Financial Controller, directing and coordinating all finance and accounting functions.
Michael's next role was as a Financial Consultant at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where they contributed to the completion of the organization's annual budget and the development of their business plan.
Michael then moved on to International Fitness Holdings Inc., where they first served as a Director of Finance, developing a financially literate accounting team. Michael later became the Vice President of Finance, leading a team of finance and accounting professionals, IT, HR, payroll, and member services. In this role, they played a key part in the acquisition and integration of fitness clubs.
Most recently, Michael worked at Corus Orthodontists, where they started as the Corporate Controller and later became the Director of Finance, Corporate Reporting & Accounting. Michael assembled and led a team of finance professionals, implementing policies, processes, and internal controls for accurate reporting. Michael focused on budgeting and strategic decision-making at the clinic level.
Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong financial expertise, leadership, and the ability to drive positive change within organizations.

From 1993 to 1997, Michael attended the University of Calgary, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a specialization in Accounting.
Subsequently, from 1999 to 2001, Michael pursued their professional qualification with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). During this period, they obtained the CPA, CA (Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant) designation.
In addition to their educational achievements, Michael also obtained the Chartered Accountant certification from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2002.
