William E. "Gene" Sanders, Jr., M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs & Chief Medical Officer, is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with over 30 years' experience in medical devices. Most recently, he served as a Medical Officer at the Food and Drug Administration in the Division of Cardiovascular Devices. Dr. Sanders trained in Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he was an AHA Bugher Molecular Cardiology Fellow in the Howard Hughes Institute and, subsequently, was a Fellow in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University. He attained his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center with a specialty in International Law and a certificate in the World Trade Organization.
