Gabriele Filosofi has a strong background in Electronic Engineering and Cognitive Psychology. With extensive experience in hardware and firmware design, Gabriele has worked for various companies in the ICT and medical device industries. Gabriele has held roles such as Embedded HW and FW Design at a medical device company, Digital HW & FW Design at Cosmed, and HW-SW Project Manager at Netsynt and ICET. Their expertise lies in designing electronic systems for real-time and fault-tolerant environments, gaining valuable skills in analog electronic design along the way.

Founded in 1980, with global headquarters in Rome (Italy), COSMED is a privately owned company manufacturing Cardio Pulmonary, Metabolic and Body Composition diagnostic equipment. Since its foundation, COSMED primary goal has always been to improve the quality of its products and services through innovation and superior customer service. COSMED started its business designing and manufacturing Spirometers. In the early 80s, COSMED introduced a very innovative portable desktop-sized spirometer named Pony, which was immediately successful in the European and Asian markets with more than 20,000 units sold globally. In the mid 90s COSMED designed the first portable metabolic analyzer, the K4. This truly innovative device broke new grounds with metabolic measurements and rapidly became the best selling oxygen measurement device in Education, Sports Science and Research. In 2011, COSMED further enhanced its already extensive offerings with the acquisition of Life Measurement, Inc. (LMI), a leading US provider of gold-standard body composition assessment systems to be used with infants, children and adults. Nowadays, COSMED is an EN13485 certified company and manufactures a full range of Spirometers, Pulmonary Function, Metabolic and Body Composition assessment systems. COSMED products are designed to meet the latest recommendations and guidelines from leading scientific organizations, including American Thoracic Society (ATS), the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM). All COSMED products meet CE mark, IEC 60601-1/EN 60 601-1 and FDA 510(K) and other various international certifications. COSMED is a world-wide organization with direct operations in the United States, Australia, Switzerland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Hong Kong and the UK, in addition to a distributor network covering more than 80 countries.
