David Chen

Executive Vice President, Procurement & Supply Chain at Cost Plus Drugs

David Chen has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, beginning with their role as a Senior Clinical Data Management Associate for Nuvo Research Inc. in 1999. David then held various positions at Teva Pharmaceuticals from 1996-2002, including Process Technologist and QC Chemist. From 2002-2011, they held various roles at Biovail, including Project Manager and Senior Manager of R&D and Tech Operations. In 2011, they began their role as Senior Manager of Pharmacy Supply Chain at Katz Group Canada Ltd. / Rexall Pharma Plus. In 2012, they moved to Target as Senior Manager of Pharmacy Procurement and Supply Chain. From 2015-2019, they were Director of Supply Chain and Market Support at ADVANZ PHARMA. David then became COO (Consulting) at UnionMed Group Ltd. in 2019 before taking on the role of Executive Vice President, Procurement & Supply Chain at Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, PBC in 2020.

David Chen received a M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia from 1993 to 1995. David also obtained a B.Sc in Chemistry from Peking University in Beijing, China from 1987 to 1991. In addition, they hold four certifications: Dual Certificates in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Regulatory Affairs from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) obtained in September 2010, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS obtained in March 2009, Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt from Aveta Business Institute obtained in August 2006, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute obtained in February 2007.
