Joey Backus

Joey Backus has had a diverse range of work experiences. Joey began their career at College Works Painting, where they served as a Branch Manager from October 2012 to September 2013, and then as a General Manager for the Great Lakes region from September 2013 to September 2015. In 2016, they joined Cottingham & Butler as an Employee Benefits Consultant, where they assist medium to large companies in controlling the cost of their employee benefit programs and provides solutions in plan design, communication strategies, wellness solutions, and alternate funding methods. Joey is currently serving as the Vice President of Employee Benefits at Cottingham & Butler, a role they began in February 2023. Additionally, Joey has volunteered for membership committees at GMA SHRM starting from July 2019 and at Metro Milwaukee SHRM starting from May 2020. Joey is currently a Board of Director (VP of Membership) at Metro Milwaukee SHRM since July 2021.

Joey Backus attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from 2012 to 2016, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, General. Prior to their university education, Joey Backus also studied at Kettle Moraine Lutheran, however, no specific details regarding the degree or field of study are available for this period.
