Our Mission
Cotton Vidarbha is a pivotal social initiative founded by Dr. Hemant Sonare, Chairman of the Textile Association of India.
Our primary mission is to transform the narrative of Maharashtra's Vidarbha region. For too long, the area has been tragically known as the 'Land of Suicides' due to overwhelming farmer distress. We are working to address this societal issue directly by creating a sustainable model that provides desired prosperity to the region's cotton farmers. Our goal is to save lives, not only in Vidarbha but within the farming community all across India.

Our Strategy: From Fibre to Fashion
We are strategically building "Brand Vidarbha" by creating global brand value for 'Vidarbha's Cotton' in both domestic and international markets.
Our strategy is focused on creating a "Cotton Hub" and a "Value Added Center of Excellence" by:
Promoting Quality: We are working with farmers to increase productivity and quality and to take care of cotton contamination at the farm level.
Championing Organic: We are promoting the cultivation of Desi organic cotton and supporting farmers in adopting organic farming for their social and economic development.
Empowering Farmers: We provide training and awareness programs across Vidarbha , focusing on modern techniques, zero-budget agriculture, soil fertility management, and pest management.
Building Cooperatives: We encourage farmers to work together in clusters and cooperative movements to end the cycle of distress.

Our Vision
Our ultimate vision is to create a Global Fashion Brand with Vidarbha's natural, eco-friendly organic cotton.
By helping the real producers who work so hard and developing the region's existing capacities in spinning and fiber , we can improve the quality of life for entire farming communities.
This vital initiative is supported by industry leaders, including renowned fashion designer Ritu Beri , who joins us in our aim to create an Indian cotton brand of high quality
