Brian Flahaven, CAE, is an experienced professional in the field of strategic partnerships and advocacy, currently serving as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education since October 2007. Previously, Brian held roles as Interim Vice President and Senior Director for Advocacy within the same organization. Brian's public service experience includes serving as a Commissioner for Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B from January 2011 to January 2016 and participating as a past board member of The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Washington, DC. Earlier career positions include Manager of Government Relations and Public Policy at the Council on Foundations and Public Policy & Philanthropy Fellow at the Council of Michigan Foundations. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Economics, and History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. CASE helps its members build stronger relationships with their alumni and donors, raise funds for campus projects, produce recruitment materials, market their institutions to prospective students, diversify the profession, and foster public support of education.
