Urs Janett

Urs Janett is an experienced public servant currently serving as the Regierungsrat (Executive Councillor) of Kanton Uri, overseeing the Finance Directorate since June 2016. Janett is also a member of the Swiss delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe since January 2024. In addition, Janett holds various board memberships and has served in significant roles within local government, including as Gemeinderat in Altdorf UR and as General Secretary of the Security Department of Kanton Uri. Military service as a Colonel in the Swiss Army is also part of Janett's profile. Previous experience includes leadership positions in human resources, administration at the Federal Administrative Court, and consultancy. Janett's educational background includes a law degree from the University of Bern and various management and communication certifications from ZHAW School of Management and Law.
