Krista E. Hughes, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Resource Development for the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) at the Council of Independent Colleges, a position held since July 2023. Krista is also the Founder and Purpose Renewal Coach at Krista E. Hughes, LLC, and has been a Community Facilitator with Speaking Down Barriers since 2017. Previously, Krista was the Director of the Muller Center and an Associate Professor of Religion at Newberry College from January 2015 until July 2024, where the Muller Center promoted vocational exploration and civic engagement. Additionally, Krista worked as an Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Hanover College from August 2009 to December 2014. Academically, Krista holds a Ph.D. in Theological & Philosophical Studies from Drew University, a Master of Divinity and a Certificate in Religion, Gender & Sexuality from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Arts in Latin American History from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish & International Studies from Wofford College.
