Antonios Antoniadis currently serves as a Visiting Professor at Université catholique de Louvain since September 2024 and holds the position of Senior Legal Counsellor and Legal Adviser at the Council of the European Union since September 2018. Previously, Antonios was the Principal Legal Officer and Legal Officer at the European Ombudsman from July 2009 to August 2018. Additionally, Antonios held an adjunct professorship in European economic law at the University of Strasbourg from September 2014 to August 2015 and worked as a Lecturer in Law at Durham University from January 2003 to June 2009. An independent law practice professional from 1999 to 2009, Antonios also served as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Birmingham and completed a traineeship in the Legal Service of the European Commission in 2000. Antonios earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Birmingham, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Cambridge, and a Law Degree from Democritus University of Thrace.
