Declan Kelly is a seasoned diplomatic professional with extensive experience in European Union affairs and economic relations. Currently serving as a Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe, since August 2020, Kelly focuses on building key relationships with EU institutions and Member States while providing strategic thought leadership on Euro Area challenges. Previously, Kelly has held various roles within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Ireland, including Counsellor and Director of Economic and Financial Affairs at the Embassy of Ireland in Washington D.C., and Financial Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the EU. Kelly's earlier experience includes serving as a Fiscal Attaché and participating in significant initiatives related to corporate tax and the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB) at the European Commission. Educational qualifications include a Master's in International Relations and a Bachelor's in Business Studies from Dublin City University.
