Marco Catenaro

Economic Advisor To The European Council President, Cabinet Of António Costa at Council of the European Union

Marco Catenaro serves as an Economic Advisor to the European Council President in the cabinets of António Costa and Charles Michel at the Council of the European Union since September 2021. Prior to this role, Marco held various positions at the European Central Bank, including Senior/Lead Official and Principal Official from October 2012 to September 2021, and served as an Advisor to the ECB Representative at the International Monetary Fund from 2010 to September 2012. Earlier experience includes a role as Senior Economist at the European Central Bank from 2000 to 2009. Marco's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Surrey, a Master's degree in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London, and other degrees in Economics of European Integration from The London School of Economics and Political Science and Università degli Studi di Torino, along with a Laurea in Economia e Commercio from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Additionally, training in leadership was completed at the London Business School in 2018.
