Jesse Rothman

Jesse Rothman is a seasoned professional in the field of criminal justice reform and effective altruism, currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Council on Criminal Justice since February 2024. Previously, Jesse held the position of Broad Groups Program Manager at The Centre for Effective Altruism from June 2022 to October 2023, and served as a Senior Program Officer at Just Impact Advisors for six months in 2022. Prior to that, Jesse worked at Open Philanthropy as a Senior Program Associate and Program Associate focused on criminal justice reform from July 2018 to January 2022. Jesse's career began at the Prison University Project, where they were an On-Site Program Coordinator from June 2016 to June 2018. Educationally, Jesse earned a Master of Theological Studies in Religion, Ethics, and Politics from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/International Relations from Carleton College.
