Stephanie Akhter

Stephanie Akhter is currently serving as the Director of the Women's Justice Commission at the Council on Criminal Justice since September 2023. Previously, Stephanie held positions such as Chief of Staff at Arnold Ventures, Program Director at The Council of State Governments Justice Center, and Director of Programs at Career Gear. Stephanie also has experience as a Consultant at New York Foundling and as a Social Work Intern at the Office of the Appellate Defender- Social Work/ Reentry Program and Center for Court Innovation - Midtown Community Court. Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) with a Law Minor in Practice & Programming from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
