Patti Thurmond

Patti Thurmond has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Patti'smost recent position was as the Vice President of Finance and Administration at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), which they held since December 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Membership and Global Initiatives at CTBUH from April to December 2020. Patti also worked as the Operations Manager at CTBUH for over a decade, from May 2009 to April 2020.

Before joining CTBUH, Thurmond worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Dean's Office of the Illinois Institute of Technology from August 2007 to May 2009. Patti also gained experience as an Architecture Summer Intern at Austin AECOM in 2008.

Earlier in their career, Thurmond held the position of Office Systems Specialist at Southern Illinois University from February 1999 to August 2007. Patti was also the Co-Owner and Bookkeeper of Thurmond's Landscape & Plant Maintenance from April 1989 to April 2006, and the Co-Owner Operator of Thurmond's Flower & Plant Shoppe from January 1982 to April 1989. Patti started their career as a Trust Accounts Clerk at American Fletcher National Bank from June 1980 to December 1981.

Patti Thurmond pursued their education starting in 2001 at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Architectural Studies in 2007. Patti then continued their academic journey at Illinois Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2009, studying Architecture, and obtained a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree.
