Tekla Benson, MPS, LCAT-P, is a skilled therapist with a focus on art therapy, currently serving as a therapist at THERAPY24X7 LLC since February 2023 and as an art therapist at The Patient Palette since September 2022, where remote dyadic art therapy and yoga/movement sessions are conducted. Additionally, Tekla has been an art therapist at Counseling In Schools since September 2021, managing a full-time caseload of 32 students aged 12 to 16 and facilitating groups centered on creative arts therapy, LGBTQIA wellness, grief, anger management, and peer mediation. Tekla holds a Master's degree in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School.

CIS is a community-based organization, founded in 1986 with a mission to bring quality counseling to students and their families in New York City Public Schools. They work from a multiple perspective approach, assessing each child's developmental, social, emotional, and cultural viewpoint. All their programs serve to support the development of each child so they may experience academic success on their way to becoming more productive members of their communities. Their mission is to advance the positive impact of education on society by providing dynamic school-based social and emotional learning interventions.
